According to iVillage Health, breakfast may be nothing more than a heap of extra calories. "You know all of those mornings where you dutifully shoveled cardboard-tasting shredded wheat into your mouth (when all you really wanted was a cup of coffee), because you’ve been told a million times that there’s no better way to start your day -- especially if you’re watching your waistline? Well, a new study just found that breakfast does not help you keep your weight in check because it does nothing but add more calories to your day." READ MORE

What do you think?

The study doesn't tell you much at all, what other studies were looked at, etc. And the article just strictly talks about cereal for breakfast and how chalked full of sugar, etc. they are. What about other breakfasts, such as homemade oatmeal, smoothies, etc. If we are talking just cereal, i would agree, but there are many other varieties of much more nutritious breakfasts out there, and I have noticed just myself that when I am working out at my lunch time fitness class, I tend to eat less in the evenings, but am starving in the mornings. The mornings I skip breakfast, I definitely lack the stamina and energy in class.

Tracy, I know what you mean. I HAVE to have breakfast or I can't make it through my work day much less my workouts. I typically eat a big bowl of oatmeal every morning so it will hold me over until lunch.
