Restless leg syndrome

My doctor suggested I may have restless leg syndrome and gave me a trial of Ambien to see if it helps. I'm reasonably healthy and not sure if sleep medication is the route I want to take. I've heard some really bad things about Ambien lately. Have any of you been diagnosed with restless legs and what are you doing for it? Is there any kind of exercise that may help?
Hi Brenda,
I can't help with the Ambien but I have found some exercises for restless leg that may help: http://inhealth.cnn.com/topic/restless-legs-syndrome/exercises-for-rls
Let me know if you try these and if they help. :-)

Hi Brenda,
My PA just suggested Coenzyme Q10 for mild restless legs. It seems to be helping.
I do take Ambien - 1/3 pill - occasionally, and it does help. I've been taking Ambien occasionally for several years - just a small dose, and I try to not take it more than three nights a week - and have never had problems with it.
Good Luck!
