Addicted to Junk Food??

Hi! I have been struggling with my weight for years--I'm about 30 lbs. overweight. After trying weight loss plans and thinking a lot about my eating patterns, I think I'm totally addicted to junk food---mostly sweets. On my way to work, I always stop somewhere to get a cookie or a cake pop. I feel like I need something in the late afternoon, and I'm never satisfed after a meal unless I have dessert. Fruit or healthy desserts just don't do it---I need chocolate or something sweet or creamy. I know that many of my empty calories are coming from this habit, as well as eating up money on drive thrus or visits to Starbuck's. I think it also contributes to my moodiness.

How can I stop this crazy habit? I think if I were to drastically reduce this addiction, I could get a better control on my weight. I have osteoarthritis of the knee and losing weight would definitely help this.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or any suggestions?

Hi Penny!

I know that when you consume sugar, your body begins to crave sugar more frequently. When you eat sugar throughout the day, the cravings will continue...that is, until you stop eating so many sweets and allow your body to go through a transition away from sugar. As one of my all time favorite sayings go, "nothing worthwhile is easy, and nothing easy is worthwhile". It sounds like you already KNOW what you need to do, but just need some motivation to take that first step. You CAN do it, one small step at a time. Private message me if you'd like to discuss!
