Anyone try/doing Shred: The Revolutionary Diet?

I saw him (Dr. Ian Smith) on a show once before, but saw him on Rachael Ray this morning. (Maybe it was a repeat?) Anyway, I really like the guy and how he talks about the healthy way to lose weight. I'm curious if anyone has had any luck. I'm getting really depressed with my gains. :( I'm thinking of finding a new doctor and getting a work-up done. I keep gaining even though I'm only eating 1500-1800 calories a day (I shoot for 1500), well below what the Harris Benedict Equation says I should be eating for maintaining weight. IOW, I am NOT eating 3000+ calories a day to create an influx enough to keep gaining like I am. I'm not even maintaining! Argh. So frustrating.
