Well it seems like I am putting on the weight instead of losing despite the fact I have been exercising and eating better for several weeks now. What is the deal with this??

Did you take measurments? Keep at it and watch your cals. Are you tracting them?

I feel like I am slimming down but I can't really tell. I just generally feel better all over right now. I guess I shouldn't complain about that now should I. lol

It's hard to make a proper diagnosis without knowing exactly what you're doing, but the other poster makes a very valid point. Not losing numbers on the scale and not feeling better/looking better/clothes fitting better are completely different.

You could be gaining muscle mass.  Muscle is denser than fat so one pound of muscle takes up less space than one pound of fat.  Are you clothes getting tight, staying the same or getting looser?
