How long do you spend at the gym?

Hi all!
I'm just wondering how long you spend at the gym if you go. Do you spend time or do you do it by distance if you use a machine?
I have a gym buddy and she spends an hour plus there but goes very infrequently, but I'd rather go for 30 minutes every day...
Am I not working out long enough? (An example of what I'd do in that time is 2.5 miles on the cycle, or 3 miles on the treadmill...)

Exercising 30 minutes everyday is better than an hour or more once in a while, IMO. 30 minutes per day is what is recommended for health. If you want to lose weight and shape up, you can do more, but it is up to the individual. Other daily activities can add to your "exercise." Such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking farther from the store and walking. Be in the habit of being active and you will be ahead of the game.
I don't go to a gym, but have a little mini gym in my home. I aim for 15 minutes every day, because once I start, I usually extend it to 30,45 or 60 minutes. I live in a ranch home with stairs to the basement and laundry room. I have arthritis and have to do the stairs slowly, but would not think of moving somewhere that's all on one level. Those trips downstairs a couple times a day are helping keep my knees moving, IMO.

I spend about an hour a day at the gym and i go about 4 times a week. It is my way of clearing my mind and getting rid of the stress of the day. I lift wieghts or exercise for about 30 mintues then do some cardio. I don't like to jog but do off and on. Mostly it is walking or the eliptical. I think getting into a pattern is the best so if it is only 30 mintues but several times a week then that is better than an hour but only here and there.
