Carol, just do what you can and it will all come in place.. Take one day and do it then go to the next and with a smile on the face think positive... Life is to short to over do.. I do believe in writing things down it keeps us focused. I also write down my mood and what I have done in exercise and what I haven't done either way .. I have it written. I am not perfect but I do over do on the diet part.. MY daughter has said I over do it.. BUT I do it because for me carrying 70lbs more is not so healthy I am 60 and for me its not the time to waste on not living healthy.. I lost my sister early in the year at the age of 53 and that drove me nuts.. I for one need to live another 20 if I can.. I will make it the best years. Well I best close here.. Its nice and sunny here today in NY Central NY near Syracuse.. I do hope the white stuff is delayed... I do not like snow I use to love it and did all kinds of things in it but as I aged I don't... Well over and out now..

Thank you for the encouragement, Wren.  I struggle every day to stay on track.  I have not been exercising much as I am getting my house ready for Thanksgiving, but sometimes that is a form of exercise, too.

It's been almost a year since I've posted to my Journal.  Part of the reason was the problems I've had accessing the board.  The other part is that I've not done well.  Bouncing up and down the same 10 lbs over and over.  Now I'm ready to get down to business again, tracking my food and exercise.  If I had done this a year ago and lost 1 lb per week, I would be at goal.  I am going to try to keep that though in mind.  One pound a week doesn't sound like much, but over 52 weeks, it's amazing.  It might sound stupid to start back on my weight loss plan right before the holidays, but looking back to my postings of last year, I stayed on plan over the holidays and did not gain.  So I intent to do the same this year, or even show a loss.

I refuse to give up.

Thank you Wren, same to you and a Happy New Year, too. I am very glad I did not show a gain over the holidays. I did indulge in some treats, but I did not go overboard. I feel good and plan to get back to my exercising like I should. I check the scale regularly, even when I don't want to, because if you catch the weight gain when it's only a couple pounds, it's easier to get it back off. Carol
