I don't know if you liked "flavored" rice, but Uncle Ben's makes some "flavored" brown rice. I didn't care for brown rice the first time I tried it, so I eased myself into eating it. I bought chicken brown rice first. It isn't as healthy as regular brown rice, but it is definitely better for you than white rice. After awhile of eating chicken flavored brown rice, I bought plain brown rice and found that I liked it.

Losing weight is a journey. Changing your eating habits is a HUGE journey. One small step at a time. I was a Mountain Dew-aholic. I used to drink anywhere from 3-5 cans of it a DAY. When I started this journey, I didn't want to give up my Dew. It was the one thing I just enjoyed having. I don't drink, don't smoke, don't do drugs.. it was my "vice". Eventually, I got to a point where I was ready to give it up. I'm happy to report I haven't had a Dew in over a month.

Small steps are better than nothing.

I am still at 198, but I started cardiac rehab last week.

I did not make my goal of 192 for my doctor's appointment.

Aww Carol-we won't smack you. We'll give you a big hug and kick you in the butt. lol I'm just kidding. Are you doing some exercising? Maybe you can rachet it up a notch and do a few more minutes each day.

I have been going to cardiac rehab after having a stent procedure in October.

Oh I'm a ham lover. Give me ham over turkey any day. lol

That is so great about the cardio rehab. It sounds like you are really doing well and following along with their recommendations. What kind of things do they have you doing?

Have you looked into any of the exercise DVDs you can do at home such as Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds? They are great and come in different intensity levels. You can check them out here and even watch clips: http://www.collagevideo.com/mainnew.aspx

Your therapist may even have some suggestions but I really like Leslie's videos because she is so upbeat and you can work at your own pace.

Cardiac rehab is really what I need because after a heart event, I'm afraid to exercise for fear of having a heart attack etc.
