Can someone explain to me what happens with wls? It seems to me there are several different ways it is done. Which way is best?

3  most common--lapband, sleeve and rny

I don't recommend the lap band it's the least invasive but also the least effective--they put a ring around your stomach to restrict how much you can eat

Sleeve is newest--they cut the stomach to the shape and size of bannana to restrict what you can eat

RNY- make a pouch out of your stomach and bypass part of small intestine--so both restrictive and malabsorption--need to take vitamins multiple times a day for the rest of your life with this

Every surgery decision is personal and based on your personality--I had rny and have done very well but if I had it done tomorrow I would probably choose a sleeve but it was too new when I had surgery to choose

Very interesting. I have always wondered about the different types as well. Thank you for explaining.
