Hi everyone - I'm curious how you all clean. I feel like I'm never getting out from under all the mess and clutter plus the tornado that is my 4yo. Do you clean on a schedule or everything at once? IOW, do you do say the bathroom on Monday and Friday, the living room Tuesday and Thursday, and so on OR do you do the whole house on one day. Help!

Yes I do! I use this and found it works well! http://www.theprojectgirl.com/2009/06/08/weekly-chore-schedule-free-download/ I stumbled upon it about 2 years ago.

Think you have no time with a 4yo?  Try being 61 & daycaring a 2.5yo, a 6 week old, with a big house, an acre yard, and arthritis!  I don't clean on a schedule, per se, but I do try to completely clean one room per day.  I learned long ago that you can't do everything all the time, but can do ONE thing.  Commit to your ONE THING for 15 minutes a day, whether it's sorting the mail, cleaning the toilets, pulling weeds or exercising.  Eventually you'll be able to do a lot in those 15 minutes, or you will find if you turn off the TV, get off the 'net, or hang up the phone, you have MORE than 15 minutes per day.

And even if I don't get any other room cleaned, I always clean the kitchen before I go to bed.  Vac the floors (swiffer sweeper if everyone else is in bed.)  All the dishes are washed or in the dishwasher, the sink is shiny, the tables and counters are cleared of all debris, mail, etc.  Don't just move piles around.  Find a place for everything, or throw it out.  That way, when you get up in the morning, you don't have a mess ALREADY staring you in the face.  When I was starting out, I found FlyLady, and she was invaluable.  http://www.flylady.net/

I didn't use too, but I found Household Cleaning & More last year that has a cleaning calendar put out monthly.  There is also a spring cleaning check list and following the monthly calendar and then the huge cleaning made it so much easier.
