Is anybody trying to get back into the Flylady routines with the new year?

Hi Francis, welcome aboard. I'm not sure that you will be "doomed" if you don't wear lace-up shoes LOL but it would be good if you found a replacement habit. The getting dressed part is important. Not that you have to put on business apparel, but getting dressed in real clothes (as opposed to sweats or even staying in pj's) makes a psychological difference in moving forward with the day.

A big part of the program is structure and routines, and doing them regularly so they become habits. And of course chipping away at things eventually gets the job done.

I'm interested in this program, but there seems to be such great importance put on cleaning your sink and getting dressed. I work at home and one of the big perks is that I don't have to get dressed up, plus, we don't even wear shoes in our house. Am I doomed for failure if I don't follow those rules?

Hi Devorah,

The only encouragement I can offer is that you're not alone. I guess it's more misery loves company than encouragement though. I'm not even at the wagon yet, I'm sort of hanging back looking at it and trying to figure out if I want to get on or not.

I'm sort of hanging on the side of the wagon.

Last week, I bleached & wiped the sink; most stains came off, didn't get to shiny.  Laundry got done.  Vacuumed 2 rooms - DR, LR, & hall.  DR & hall already have crumbs & other misc. debris.  Archeological dig sites on tables, counters: diminishing in size on DR table only.  2 bags old clothes out; many more to get packed up & go. Kitchen floor mostly swept & washed.  If Iwould add dusting & polishing, it adds up to WHB (Weekly House Blessing). 2 tall kitchen cans of recycle out; hoarding several bags in basement.  Paperwork ---eeek!   Bed usually gets made.

The house is cluttered & it looks like I don't do anything.  Support & encouragement needed.....
