I try to keep things clean in our house, but it is nice to get in a good, deep cleaning once or twice a year. If you are gearing up for Spring Cleaning too, here are a few tips for you...

How To Use Green Cleaners
If you're not using green cleaning products, chances are pretty good you're exposing your family to harsh chemicals. But it's easy to green up as you clean up. Patty Kim from The Green Guide shows us tips to go green with house cleaning products.

Yes, I do. What with tracked in snow and rain and the house closed up, it just needs a real refreshing!

I do one room at a time, using small boxes to sort things into that belong in other rooms. I PUT THE CONTENTS AWAY at the end of the workday or project or else it just makes the next room a mess or brings mess back to an already cleaned room. Amazing how much migrates from where it belongs.........

I'm pretty thorough on it, too. Curtains get washed or cleaned, rugs are cleaned, mattresses turned, closets cleaned out, all surfaced cleaned and knicknacks or display items cleaned, too. Of course, none of it STAYS that way but for a while I have the satisfaction of a really organized place!

Wow you really are on top of things Marti! I would love to do something like that too, but I can never seem to find the time. If I could just ship my kids away and take a week off, I'd be good! ;)

I don't really do a big cleaning like that. I just don't have the time. I'm lucky to do light cleaning, nevermind something in depth! I try to tackle a few bigger projects here and there, like cleaning the window screens, on weekends if we're not busy with other activities.

Well, it takes about a month to do it all....not like I'm managing it in a day or two! Actually the reason I do such a thorough cleaning is that I am NOT on top of it all.....LOL! Things accumulate...messes and projects because of all the holidays, visitors and weather, so it's almost a necessity!

Welcome to the board! I hope you stay and we get to "talk" more!
