Hey everyone, I'm new to this board! My name is Annie and I'm a part-time SAHM to my 2 year old (his birthday is today!) son Ian, and my 5 month old son, Sean.

I live in Wisconsin and I also work part-time at a natural parenting store called Nicki's Diapers. We specialize in cloth diapers, breast feeding and baby wearing items.

Looking forward to getting to know people here!

Hello,

I see that you’re a fellow green-living person! LOL. I only just started about a year ago and it has been a slow process. I love it though! I am a mommy to a beautiful 20month baby girl and pregnant with a second child. We don’t know the sex yet! So excited! But, I am just so happy to have a safe home for my family. I will be using cloth diapers for my second baby and breastfeeding for as long as possible. I am always curious how experienced “go-greeners” run things. What kinds of household products do you use? Do you garden or buy organic? And what about the cost? That was always my biggest concern…we already struggle a bit with finances and I know organic, all natural products are usually more expensive. But, I was proven wrong. I get all my household goods on-line. Everything from make-up to vitamins, to cleaning products! I love it. I still haven’t gone organic when it comes to the grocery store though. I’m working on it!

Anyways, I was just wondering if you’d be interested in trading tips and secrets!

Thanks a lot!

Hi Angie! Nice to meet you! We're also on a tight budget but having a safe, "green" household is also important to me. We've found cloth diapering has saved us a lot of money! Especially with the second child because he's now fitting into my older son's one-size diapers, so it's like we're diapering him for free! Obviously breastfeeding as long as possible saves a TON of money because it's free!

I make 90% of my household cleaners with inexpensive and safe products like vinegar, baking soda, borax, essential oils, etc. As far as our produce is concerned, I'm lucky enough to be the daughter-in-law of a farmer so we get a lot of produce for free and we are able to know exactly what kind of things have been sprayed on them. For things that I buy at the grocery store, I try to buy everything in season and then freeze or can for the off-season. That way I'm not trying to buy as much expensive organic produce in the winter.

I'm looking forward to getting lots of good tips and tricks from this board!
