I was looking at this slide show earlier today. It's about items you should scrimp on (they say household cleansers, among other things) versus things you should splurge on (gym membership, healthcare, vacations).

I thought this would be a fun game to play. You answer the question, then pose a new question for the next poster.

Splurge (so long as you stay within budget, go for the best materials you can get as qulaity always pays off)

Scrimp - I think Ghirardelli is about as fancy as I get, lol! I've heard that imported is so much better, but I guess I'm afraid I'll get addicted to expensive chocolate!

Scrimp! I live in such a casual place that dressing up means wearing your nice fleece or the newest of your 6 pairs of birkenstocks. When I worked in an office I paid a little more for clothes but now it's Target all the way baby!

Scrimp or splurge: DVD players (ours finally bit the dust, but DH doesn't think it's worth it to pay for an expensive one)

Scrimp. I saw some of those blue ray things and wow are they expensive. I got my most recent dvd player at walmart for about 40 bucks and it's doing just fine for us.

Scrimp. I'm just a basic cell phone person; all the fancy bells and whistles aren't for me. As long as I can make and receive calls, that's all I need. ;-)

Scrimp! We wait until they're at the $1 theater or they come out on DVD. If it's something with awesome effects that "can only been seen in a theater" according to DH we go but that's maybe once or twice a year.
