Jerry Pournelle's "A step Farther Out"......really a challenging book as far as thinking about alternatives go.....Some of the suggested solutions to the problems we'll face in the future are a little terrifying and also disgusting, but some of the commentary and things to think about DO make great sense....if we could institute them!

Those both sound interesting. I'm not reading anything at the moment. I was reading Radical Homemakers, but had to return it to the library and put myself back on the list to check it out.

It kind of goes along with the thread about "lady skills" and how so many women lately are choosing to leave the corporate world (or not enter it at all) in order to be homemakers. It also talks about how the term "homemaker" gets a bad rep - thus the "radical homemaker" term. What I read of it was interesting.
