I keep one or two for cleaning, but mostly they get tossed. My kids seem to go through them really quickly.
I was using Preserve toothbrushes for awhile. They're the ones made from Stonyfield yogurt containers, then you send them back in to be recycled. I need to start buying them again, but have a bunch I got free with coupons so I'm trying to get through those first.
I also use them for cleaning....in tight spaces, corners of window screens, narrow edges. They're great for the car kit and brushing off the battery before you go to fill it. Spatter painting is fun with them, too! I also use them to apply streaks of grey hair at Halloween.....I spray the grey onto the toothbrush and grab a hunk of hair and run the toothbrush down it.
I use 'em when I'm refinishing furniture, too......to get the sawdust out of tight spaces or to get the stain or finish into those same spaces.
I also use them to anchor skinny trunked plants. Brush side down holds them in an upright position and the plastic doesn't decay like wood skewers or bamboo.
That's a good idea for getting sawdust off furniture. I have some chairs I want to refinish (took them out of my neighbor's yard on trash day!) so I will try it.
I use them to clean. I keep lots of them so I always have fresh oned to use. I run them through the dishwasher in between uses.. I love the idea of using them to prop up plants!
