When buying laundry detergent...

Our friends at Method suggest using eco-friendly detergents instead of petroleum-based detergents because they're gentler on the skin. When buying detergent, what matters more to you: pricing or quality?

I have to admit to being a bit on the "frugal" side, so price definitely matters to me. While I don't usually buy the big name brands that are known for being green, the impact of my detergent - both on the environment and my family's skin - does matter. I usually keep an eye out for sales and coupons and try to purchase a reputable brand that cares for the environment.

We all have sensitive skin in our family and are allergic to Tide. I get the All Free 'n Clear from Sam's Club for a fairly good price. I used to get Surf liquid when that was available but I think the All is probably better for our skin anyway.

Hi Emily, Welcome to the board!

I guess I'm lucky that my son seemed to outgrow his eczema. I still try to buy the fragrance and dye free brands when I can though. Does Sam's take coupons too? I bet you can get some great deals there!

I have to get he laundry detergent, All is one of the few I can use without breaking out or getting sores. I also have to be very careful with softeners.

I also buy All free and clear at Sam's they don't take coupons that is the down side to shopping there. I watch what I get as some things I can get cheaper at the grocery store. I get big bags of pasta and for the price it's a good deal. I loved buying my veggies there as it was just one big bag now they have smaller bags in the big bag :(
