Favorite stores for home decorating items?

Hi all,

I'm in need of some new decor in our house but don't want to spend a fortune trying to mix things up a bit. What are your favorite budget-friendly places to find fun items for decorating? I tend to gravitate towards shabby-chic items so anyplace that carries those type of pieces would be great.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Sometimes it's nice to just shop at thrift stores if you don't mind used items. You can also try just about any department store, because they have quite a variety that suits just about any taste.

I agree with Bee, especially if you are handy and don't mind a little painting, re-upholstery, etc. Thrift shops, garage sales and flea markets are great places to find things that work in a shabby chic design...

Oh, great idea ladies!  I hadn't even thought to check out thrift stores.  I love doing crafty projects so finding something to repurpose would be fun.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Small decor changes make a big impact in a home's look. Photo frames, sconces and wall décor items are the perfect way to make your house a home.
