We gave up on "real" trees for $$$ reasons after the 2008 crash so we have two "artifical" trees now. One is a recycled outdoor one (always on a table in our foyer) and the other is a large brass tree meant for hanging display ornaments. Each year, the theme is different, be it different ornaments with themes or different color schemes. Last year, the recycled outdoor tree was all in red and green with touches of gold, with a red-and-gold tree skirt:

while the brass tree (in the living room) had cat themed ornaments and was stood on a fark green "skirt" with two stuffed cats (and one very curious live one on the heating register) arranged below:

Haven't decided on this year yet...

Oh my gosh, Carol. I LOVE your trees! So very pretty! The red and green one is just beautiful! I hope you'll post a pic of your tree from this year too. My kids are fairly young still (4, 10, 12) and our ornaments are mainly ones they've made over the years. I love them! This year, though, I really just wanted simple so I mainly have a snowflake theme going on our tree. We went and cut it down from the mountains this past weekend ($10 permit is all we needed). It's a family tradition to make the trip up and cut it down. So fun!

Here they are --- they finally got decorated today!

These are two brass ornament display trees which hold all my hand-stitched ornaments. View from the second floor catwalk into the living room...

View from the first floor, looking toward the hall and the foyer.

This is a fiber-optic tree originally used as an outdoor decoration. It has been our primary indoor tree since 2008. This is a before decoration photo

Husband wanted multi-color this year so...View from above, from the second floor catwalk (you can see the top flight of stairs to the left), into the foyer.
