Wood laminate update

I thought I would post an update on my wood laminate floors project in my living room.  All I have left of hte project is to paint one last coat of white on the trim around the doors and floors.  I filled in the nail holes, but need one more coat of paint.  After that is done its onto the kitchen to redo the cabinets:

For before and progress pictures, you can look at the wood laminate thread below:

Thanks Carol! You can't see it well, but I have a small rug under the girls' little recliner chairs and one that matches it next to the front door. Originally we were planning on moving back up to Michigan next month, so this was more to help resale than anything, so I hadn't gotten a large rug for the middle of the floor. But we've put the move on hold for a bit, so I am keeping my eye out for a new rug, one that has the same colors in the drapes, though I am not sure I want to keep the drapes. I am excited to start on the kitchen redo, though I haven't quite built up the energy to do it yet, hoping to start it once the kids get back into school.

I never even htought about rugs --- the floor is so pretty! But I can see where it might soften up the space and maybe reduce the "echo" hard surfaces create. And you can always take the rug with you when you leave.

Where-abouts in Michigan, if I may ask? We live less than an hour from the border between MI and OH so you would be neighbors!

Yes, the echo is definitely much more apparent now with the floors than with the carpeting, and with a 4 and 6 year old, there is a lot of echoing! LOL! We'll settle back in in the Fenton area where I grew up, just south of Flint. DH and his family are from the Waterford area. Most of our family lives in Michigan, my brother over in Grand Rapids, and DH's parents bought a farm in the thumb 2 years ago. We are headed up there in August for an open house for my ODD's graduation before she leaves for college, a 3 day trip to Mackinac Island and my youngest brother's wedding.

Well done!  It really doesn't take a lot to makeover a room using new flooring and some decorations! As a home inspector, I see lots of flooring. Wood and laminate floors are some of the most durable floors, next to tile. I would recommend them to anyone.
