Right now, ours are pretty much mix-or match. We have a white fridge and sink, a stainless cooktop and dishwasner and a black built-in oven and microwave. The white fridge and the black oven adn microwave came with the house.

My big appliances all match; they are white.

I've heard that about stainless before... Black shows prints too! My countertop appliances are a mixed bag too: black coffee maker, stainless blender, shiny steel toaster and, when I get them out, white mixer and food processor!

I think I might get bored if all my appliances matched. LOL!

When we moved in 1975 we had a avocado green refrigerator and the stove, stove vent, oven and dishwasher were the old copper color with gold/yellow Formica counter top.

At the moment its a mixed bag only because we had to replace the microwave when DH set the stovetop on fire and burned the crap out of the microwave. So we replaced it with a stainless steel one because its our intent to do stainless steel throughout. I'd prefer black, but he wants stainless and one less thing to argue about. So right now, the microwave is stainless steel, the fridge and oven are white, and the diswasher "should" be white but I think its just discolored from the years as its more of an offwhite, and the panel in the front is sort of a plastic, so no matter how much I scrub it, its always dirty.

I remember avocado (we had a fridge like that) and copper (our vacation home had a copper range)! Both were eventually replaced with white...

We had a convection oven in England and the one here goes both ways. My DH loves them; me, I can do without...

I think I would take his suggestion for a convection oven if he used it for. Ore than making homemade pizza 2 or 3 times a month. But since I do all the cooking, I am quite fine with a regular old oven. LOL!
