The best reason to have friends over 50 is that they forget all your mistakes! I'm not over 50 yet, but my medication makes me have short term memory problems, so there ya go.
I would so do this in my house. Especially the sofas and sectional. I could add my boho colors, and BAM! I actually have the black lamp, but we have it mounted on the wall in dd's room. I also have a set of turquoise lamps like that, in my shipping container (yes, I have a shipping container with stuff in it, from when we started putting an addition on our house. We still need to complete the upstairs...........) When I get my master suite upstairs I'm using those lamps in my bedroom.
When I was growing up, my favorite grandparents had a house that was decorated in total "Madmen" style. They had those streamlined sofas and sectionals. They had the upholstered headboards. Beautiful hardwood floors with runners on them in the hallways. Then they had collected awesome Japanese art. Some my grandad had brought back from Japan. Their house was so serene to me. I have a few pieces of their art. They seemed to know how to mix the clean lines of the 50's/60's modern, with a few heavily ornate Japanese pieces-screens, cabinets, etc.- that just made everything perfect.
I really like the phone and the vintage looking radio. The headboard could also fit in, but I don't think any of the other furniture would. I don't mind the couches, but they probably wouldn't be my first pick. They definitely would look out of place in our mountain cabin style home!
I used to have some orange fiberglass chairs,, those were soooo neat. Very cold to sit on but then again I was young and stuff like that didn't bother me much. I also like the streamlined look. Do you ever watch the TV program,, I love it... love the hairstyles and the dresses! And I like that the women have curves ;O)
We've tried to watch it a few times on Netflix, but just couldn't get into it. It seems like it should be a great show, but we just didn't find the entertainment in it like we do in some other shows. I feel so uncool for not liking it! ;)
shopping in pj's?????? I have never seen that, and reallyyyyyy hope never to see that..... YIKES: I loved Jackie O styles too, they are coming back in style this fall... I hear anyway... gee I better go out and buy a pillbox hat..... ;O)

I've never seen the show. We don't have TV or cable. We do have netflix though and it has become available. I've been thinking of getting it.
I was a kid in the sixties. I remember the Jackie O styles. My mom was a model and dressed herself and us really well.
