Without getting into too much detail, my husband has applied for, received, & used credit in my name in the past without my knowledge or consent.

You can put something on your credit report, I don't remember what it is, it may be a fraud alert, where no new debt can be taken out in your name/ssn without them first contacting you directly for verification that it is indeed you applying for that credit.
