Life is Different...but So Good

Never in my wildest dreamers did I think I would be this busy NOT working.  I rarely find time to sit at the computer.  But I am happy.

Financially we are doing great.  All we have is the mortgage which we are paying extra on each month.  We have more than double what we put in my husband's retirment and his company is matching that.  We have great insurance and have taken advantage of the eye insurance and got eye exams and two new pairs of glasses for $56 for BOTH of us.  Kent has some more dental work to be scheduled, but it's for a new partial and time just has not permitted him to do it.  He loves his new job and only covers the state of TN so mostly only day trips with an occasional overnight trip to the Nashville area. We have a good sized savings account but have never received the last bonus from his prior job.  We have an attorney pursuing this.  We are really not expecting anything to come of this, but it was worth trying.

Health wise .......uhhhhhhh...some days just suck. My heart is doing fair but it depends upon my pacemaker a lot. 87% for the top chamber and 73% for the lower chamber.  My back is giving me a fit especially trying to sleep. But I do manage to get 1/2 night of good sleep.  My arthritis is horrible in my right hand and both knees. I am staying very active so that's my goal is to not let it get me down.

Hubby's dad (father in law) is doing very poorly. He's currenlty in the hospital and extremely week and has pneumonia.  We are brassed for the worse but praying for a miracle.  I have kept our grandson most everyday this summer.  He is 8 yrs. old now and a lot of help.  He's strong, willing and loves to garden. He has started 3rd grade at school last week, so my day times are a little to quite. LOL.  I do miss him a lot but some days I pick him up after school for our son. He's doing extremely well in baseball and was even scouted for a team he joins this fall.

I was sad and happy at the same time reading some of the current post.  I'll try to stay in touch a little more.

Signing off.....LIFE IS GOOD!

Norma! So great to hear from you. I think about you often and had hoped you are doing well and enjoying not working. Soo not working and putting extra on the mortgage while saving for retirement is a wonderful spot to be in! So so happy for you. We hope to be in our house in October now. Its been a ride with ups and downs but it is coming!

So good to hear from you!  Boy, the physical stuff sure gets more apparent as we age, but you are doing all the right things.

Being to busy to post is a GOOD thing. :)

Congrats on the new house. I love the building process and would love to help people through the process. I remember enjoying it when my son build his house. I know Oct. can not get here fast enough. Good luck!
