Just to share a bit of news with you -- I paid off all my credit card debt. This is a big step forward, and for the first time in nearly 20 years, I'm no longer burdened by consumer debt. Yes, I still have some persona loans, so I'm not entirely debt free. But I'm getting closer to the finish line. I'll have to be vigilant, because I don't want to fall back into the same sinkhole. I wish Kate were here to celebrate with me.

Congrats!!! That must feel so fantastic!

How is the new job? The new place? Are you saving money there, is the reason you are doing well?

That is great! Dying to know how you are liking it here on the West Coast?

Thanks, everyone, for your encouragement! It was a great relief to be free from credit card debt, and I intend to stay free. When I made this move, I realized how much stuff I no longer need. Funny -- once upon a time it seemed so important to have that stuff.

I love the West Coast! I like the newness and the openness, not to mention the water and the sun. I needed a new start, I do.This is a chance that I must try to make the best of.

The struggle is not yet over -- I will have a car loan, and my living expenses are higher. Sure, my income is now higher than before, but even after going through the budget calculations, I'm still nervously waiting to see whether the actual projected living expenses are accurate.
