I checked my mortgage today and as of this moment I am down to 17 years owing. Not bad considering that I refinanced at 20 years 8 months ago! Go accelerated bi-weekly payments go!

We just refinanced to 15 years at 2.99%. I am not in love with this house, as I have said many times! LOL, so I am sure we will either do a lot of remodeling or have to move at some point, though I would LOVE to have it paid off before I retire.
We owe 4 more years on one of our cabins (one is paid off) so that will be nice as well. That ends about the time DD is done with law school, so then we can take all of that money and either wipe out the mortgage, excellerate retirement savings or both.

wow, great job in only 8 mths time! We are trying to pay off ours in 21 more mths...this is reliant on a couple bonuses but we are under $44,000...& i love throwing extra money at it. We have $ set aside for a new roof this spring, I'm hoping it comes in under our estimate then we could throw any extra at the mortgage...Just can't wait until that payment is GONE!!!

17 years, nice. I am jealous. We haven't even built our house yet that will likely have a 25 year mortgage on it lol. Go accelerated payments!
