I loved that quote because I know so many people who feel that way (and I've seen the sentiment here too a few times). This guy owns only 15 things. I just can't imagine!

I just couldn't give up my family photos...or pieces of jewelry I've inherited. I think keepsakes like that would definitely be on my list! (Who knows...he may have a big trunk full of stuff in his mom's basement, lol!)

What would be on your list?

I tend to agree with the posters under the thread that this person is unrealistic.
This forum is about living without debt, not living without anything. This guy with 15 items might still have college debt, or a bad credit rating because he lost his job and didn't pay his past mortgage. The title of the post does not match.
When we say debt kills dreams (a title I have used for a couple years) it is because with debt your choices are limited in some way because money must go to repay that debt. This person limits his choices because of what he chooses not to have - maybe even a job!
I cannot quit my job today because I have a sense of responsibility to save for my retirement, put my kids through college, drive a sound car to work, look nice daily, live in a home I will own one day, etc.

It is, and I wouldn't suggest otherwise. It is a fun article to read though. Definitely makes you think about the many layers of things that are "need" v. "want"!

I could keep it simple.
