Fed up with IV, honestly

Hi, guys,

I try to post periodically.  From Firefox, I usually get the "not authorized to comment" nonsense and when on Safari, I get the "this user name is not valid" or some other mumble jumble.

Anyhow, not too awful much is new here.  My hubby got a bonus of $1700 a few weeks ago, and so we put most of it towards debt.  We also filed our taxes.  We will pay off our Best Buy card when our refund comes in ($1900), but will probably use most of the rest as a buffer to offset our low income, at least for now. It looks like we will be getting a refund from our escrow account in a couple of months ($1000ish), so I am truly hoping the worst of the year is already behind us (you know, with the $2200 out of pocket for my daughter's prescription a few weeks ago)

I did not stick to my February goals.  I have not even bothered to come up with new goals for March.  (I know what my problem is.  I am depressed.  Honestly, I just don't know how to fix it.)   I hope that spring helps with that...I am excited about the time change this weekend, and have been trying to take walks every once in awhile.  The exercise helps so much.   I do know that I need a new job.  That is the biggest source of stress for me right now (aside from the whole TTC fiasco, which is just not fun right now)  Anyhow, my issue with my job (aside from the fact that it is mind-numbing work that pays minimum wage) is that there is no one there for me to make friends with, and I need some friends.  I miss my Wisconsin friends a LOT, and I haven't lived out there since 11/09.  I have a few friends here, but none of them are where I work...they are all people I went to school with and see every couple of months.  So, as soon as I get a decent sleep (haven't had one of those in over a week), I am going to apply for a couple of new jobs.  I have identified a few potential companies, just need to rework my resume a bit.

Did I tell you guys that when I sold my stock in January, I accidentally sold my Caterpillar stock instead of my 3M stock?  I was upset about it then, but it turns out the mistake was in my favor.  My CAT stock has dropped $9 since I sold, whereas my 3M stock has gone up $8ish.  Makes me feel a little better  : )

So anyhow, like I said, not too much new here.  Just living life day to day and waiting for the sun to come out!

Kac,

HELLO FROM WISCONSIN - LOL!!!!

Hang in there.  It's been a long, cold. lonely winter for A LOT of people this year.  Honestly, I've never known so many people (myself included) who have been struggling with depression due to this winter.  It won't be long until . . . here comes the sun, here comes the sun . . .. and I say, it's all right . . . doo doo doo doo

I've been using Google Chrome and really haven't been having any trouble with IV.

Also, I KNOW what you mean about getting exercise.  It's makes a world of difference.  With all the snow and ice we've been getting, it's been hard for me to get outside and walk much (I can't afford anymore head injuries, and my last one was due to walking- or rather slipping - on ice . . . I'm such a freak - lol)

It does sound like you have some really good ideas about how to get yourself on a better track.  Honestly having a solid plan is a really good start.

Hope your mood improves and your day goes well.

Thanks : )

I didn't know you were in Wisconsin : )   (I lived in Neenah for a few years, and West bend for about 5 or 6.  I really miss the Appleton area...it was great!)

I am on Chrome, so we will see if I am authorized to post, lol.

I fell on the ice coming out of work at 6 AM about a month ago-- lovely parking lot was a sheet of ice, and it was dark.  Not fun!

Feast or famine...I either can't post a reply at all, or I get to repeat myself a lot.  LOL

What is IV?

I'm sorry you're down. I have plenty of experiences of being down, and advice from other people -- especially those who don't know you or those who don't understand what it's like to feel depressed -- often doesn't help. So I won't pretend I know what's good for you. I do think that if you plan things and keep us abreast of your plans, it'd keep you motivated in figuring out a way out of the pit. You're not alone!

I'm on Chrome too, but still it takes two or three times to log in.

The daylight hours has a lot to do with depression.  It's been cloudy and wet or snowy the whole month of February and so far in March. (East Tennessee)  Today is beautiful blue skies and sunny.  YES, exercise makes all the difference.  My husband and I have both been on a weight lose and walking a lot and it does help with your moods.

It sounds like you will be on track with you financial short term goals as soon as the money comes in.  I think you do need a new fun to you job.  Shake off that resume and see what happens.  It can't hurt.

Good Luck.

Hi!, yes Chrome it takes a bit to sign in but it does work. So glad to hear from you and I hope the job thing works out. Friends are so important but hard to make when you get a bit older it seems lol. Good luck. There are friends here!

I just wanted to support you in that exercise is great....I have lots of experience with depression and I tried for many, many years to "be strong" and "deal with it" without medication, but after over a decade of struggling I finally went to a doctor and got a prescription for anti-depressants. I felt like I'd failed by resorting to prescription drugs, but I couldn't exist from my dark pit of depression or take any more days of feeling like doing nothing but lie on the couch and stare at the wall.

It was difficult to go to a doctor, but it made a world of difference. My family noticed a big improvement very quickly.

I am not saying this is for everyone, but just thought I would add it to the mix of ways to deal with depression.
