A few changes to the board...

Hi everyone, We're currently reviewing all of the forums to see if there are ways to streamline some of the folders which, in turn, will optimize our site's search results. We've found that reducing folders that aren't used often can help the community grow and become more active and that making folder names more specific can help with Search Engine Optimization. These things considered, I'd like to make the following changes:

Debt Discussions - keep as is
Introductions - change name to "Debt Support Group Introductions"
Check Ins & Weekly Snowflakes - I'm thinking something like "Debt Reduction Check-Ins" or "Debt Accountability"
Compulsive Spending - Removing. We'll move some of the more recent threads to the top folder in case you'd like to reference them.
Info & Resources - Remove
Explore ivillage - Remove

I vote to leave the three titles as they are. I seldom visit the other three, so I agree w/ the removal. Just my opinion :)

I should explain the reasoning behind changing the folder names. We refer to them as "folders" because that's what we called them years ago. When we changed over to this system we actually don't have folders any more, they are each individual boards. It's semantics and doesn't matter all that much, except for the fact that new members can land on a board specifically instead of a topic.

For example, this is a topic:

Debt Support Group

This is a board~
Debt Discussions

So a new person who lands on the "Introductions" board (aka folder) might not necessarily know that it's introductions to a debt support group unless they come from the topic page. Making the board (aka folder) name more specific will clarify this and also make it come up in more search results.

I agree that deleting the rarely-used 3 folders is a good idea.

I also like that you are renaming the folders to more specific names. As for the Check Ins and Weekly Snowflakes, I would prefer not to have to choose between two vague terms "check-ins" vs. "accountability". Can we call it something more specific, like "Debt Reduction Accountability and Snowflakes"? It's more specific because accountability and snowflakes

I think it is a great idea. People just don't tend to scroll down very far.
