Hi everyone, I think it has been two years since I posted.... but I could be wrong. I took sort of a hiatus after baby girl #3 was born and I had the problems with my husband to focus more on myself and not to worry so much about how fast we were paying down our debt because nothing was behind and everything was current. I think actually I was driving myself a little crazy worrying about it not that it is not good to be concern and mindful. I don't know exactly what our numbers were when I left but now our only loans besides our mortgage is the car loan which is 3999.00 and my husband student loan which I am not sure of the exact numbe bercause it is taken out directly and the plan is to have that forgiven in 4 more years. I believe now that our house is worth more then we owe which is nice because we are thinking about moving in a year or two. My goal is to have the car paid off by the end of the year and sooner would be better but I am not going to stress it. I just started tracking our spending again on something that our credit union offers which has been helpful. I have it set up so that when we get to 80 percent of our spending target that the reminder goes to my husband and not me so that he is in the loop. Another change is that I left my job with adult ed because it was becoming painfuly boring and I was missing out on my oldest daughter because I worked in the evenings when she was home from school. I now have a new job which is as a Doula. I work for an agency that helps out low income Moms and take private clients. I currently do about 4 births a month and I just started taking all of that money and putting it into my own account to pay for the doula expenses but to have a emergency fund that we can not easily transfer into our checking account ;). I am also thinking about taking that money and opening some sort of IRA at the end of the year to help myself be pepared for reitrement since I am mostly self employed now.
It is great to see that a lot of people are still posting and I look forward to reading up on how everyone is doing.
