Hi everyone,
Definitely here for some Christmas Season support!
In order to stay on budget I want to accountable to myself in the next month until Christmas to only get the following things. I have already done most of my other shopping and stayed pretty much in budget. Where I always get in trouble is in the last weeks before Christmas when I see all the "oh that would be nice for so-and-so" gifts.......
1. A Kuerig for my parents (Splitting it with my brother)
2. A gift certificate for my boss to a local cafe he goes to
3. A bottle of wine for the Director of my department
4. A DVD for my uncle
5. $35 in "little gifts" small hand soaps, etc. to give to a few of my friends.
6. My Christmas Tree and Wreath
Help me stay honest - please?
Happy Holiday Season.....

You go! Good to hear from you. Sounds like a very reasonable budget! Keep in mind all the things you want to achieve next year when shopping to stay within limits!
Sounds like a great list. You can certainly stick to it.
Avoid being anywhere near the stores once your list is purchased. There is still a lot of seasonal fun stuff to do to avoid the mall; walk around the neighborhood and look at the xmas decorations, or walk around in nature and marvel at the changing of the seasons, watch a sappy xmas made for t.v. movie (that run 24/7 this time of year- I especially like the ones from the early 90's for some reason), string popcorn to decorate the tree, pull out some old, half-finished craft and complete it (something about this time of year makes me want to do something crafty), bake some cookies from stuff you have on hand, etc . . .
I love Christmas time. But I really don't love spending money. And you really don't need to to enjoy the season!
OK....I'll hold your hand "IF" you'll hold mine through this gift giving season! I have $480 to finish my gift purchases and I have to stay of budget. So far so good, but like you, I'll need constant reminder not to purchase too much for dear grandson.
Wishing you all the luck & will power to say "NO"!
Bumblingalong -
You are so right about staying away from the stores. Luckily for me and my budget I hate the mall. I do love little unique shops but I try to save my browsing in those for times when I am on vacation. One last trip to get the Kuerig and I am done.
I haven;t had a great month moneywise - a little too loose here and there - but I get paid Friday and it's a new start. Time to reign it in.
