Norma, I am not havinng a great week either. It started with a cleansing on Monday and then a colonoscapy on Tuesday. When your week starts with someone shoving something up your butt, you know it isn't going to be a good week.

The meds they give you to put you under feels good, though. You'll be so totally relaxed that someone needs to take you home. Then you get some pictures, which you can regard as souvenir. But that cleansing really sucks.

Your commute sounds quite trying. Having to do it day after day must not be easy. I'm glad you are able to find motivation in it.

Hope today and tomorrow turn out OK for you.

I'm sorry I have been laughing out loud about your "you know its going to be a bad week when...."

I'm sorry you had to go through that but you never cease to entertain me!

I actually live in the county due north of Knoxville in the country and have a LONG commute each day to NW Knoxville to work.

LOL, as PB2011, you crack me up!

Steph, the commercial is really cute and I'm glad you're getting an influx of cash.

ldp328, I wish I could share some of my wine with you! I've had tummy problems so I didn't drink much over the holidays. Plus I got a lot of wine as gifts, so I'm stocked up on vino for the next few months. Too bad I can't share the wealth.

iv_aingeal, hummous is a normal item at my office for lunch. We also have a lot of vegetarians on staff and a lot of international food is eaten. I think the people at your work just don't realize how yummy hummous and carrots is!!

Norma, I am not havinng a great week either. It started with a cleansing on Monday and then a colonoscapy on Tuesday. When your week starts with someone shoving something up your butt, you know it isn't going to be a good week.

Added to my misery is that I'm broke from test-driving a car budget, but I don't have a car. And the buses to my new office absolutely bite -- I'm now up to 3 hours per day in travelling back and forth to work. The bus situation is the only thing keeping me motivated with my new, strict budget.

I wonder ... when does it all get easier?

Thanks and good point about the healthy versus fast food! Yes, no soda here, no sports drinks, etc. I can't imagine eating fast food though I do like sweet potato fries. I can make those easily though and much more healthy from home. :)
Good luck getting to see your inlaws in February. That is hard with cars that can't make it. I am getting nervous about our cars - they are old. Hopefully that works out!

Wow Stacy! I hope he can sell them at the end of the semester and get some of that money back.

I work in a prosecutors office and we just had a police report come in where a student stole his roommates textbooks just to return them to the campus bookstore to get a couple hundred dollars in cash!

(((BEX))) I'm sorry about all the layoffs around your office, that must create a very negative environment, even if your own job is safe. I worry about layoffs often because I work for the government and the budget is always being cut. I'm low on the totem pole and get paid very little, but I do know my office cannot function without me and my position cannot be eliminated.

Sorry to hear about the wedding stress too, that sucks. DH and I very consciously had a small wedding - only 14 people total including us, and no wedding party at all. It was the right choice for us. Less stress and no burden on any of our loved ones. I'm so glad we stuck to our guns and did it that way. Weirdly we did receive a lot of pressure from all angles to have a bigger, fancier, more wasteful wedding, but we resisted. Unfortunately we are still carrying around the cost of the 14 person rehearsal dinner on DH's credit card 3 months later!!! *sigh* Do you at least get to wear a pretty dress? I've never been a bridesmaid (maybe brides can smell my cheapness) but it seems way overrated. ;)

ldp - everything you eat sounds delicious to me! :) I'm a vegetarian though so maybe that has something to do with it. :) My co workers things I'm weird too. Especially when I eat hummus ... or plain baby carrots. But they eat gross fast food so I don't care what they think. ;)
