Yay, congratulations! So when's the wedding?

To make the announcement relevant to DSG, let me share this link:

Congrats Serenity!!  My youngest brother texted me the other day asking a bunch of questions on cheap weddings and receptions for him and his girlfriend who just bought a house together, so exciting!!

I'm soooo happy for you. 7 years right? It seems like your SO is really good guy from what you have written. DD will come around.. How are the older ones doing with it?

Wishing you all the best!

Congrads, Serenity! Have fun with the planning! I got re-married 5 years ago and my DD helped me choose things. I had a nice simple off white tea length dress, DH and his son wore matching suits, with DD in a beautiful teal dress. We got the men ties to match our dresses so DSS had a nice teal tie. Our flowers were calla lillies and were very different but just beautiful. It was such a meaningful wedding! We made our invitations via a stationery kit from Staples, had a nice dinner out with a small cast of family and friends and in total spent about $2,000 with everything included! Not too bad, for a very nice occaision. Hope your future is nothing but sunny skies! -M

Thanks everyone.  I have no clue what this wedding will look like.

All we have decided is "small and some time this summer."  Well, I should say that we know it will not be a big shin-dig like my last wedding in my 20's.

Just my coworkers and SO's alone (who, if you recall, I have known for as much as 27  years) would be around 7 people.  Immediate family would be at least 15.  Long time friends, 3 to 6, and the list of our friends in recovery is endless.  Neighbors who we have become friends with, the list just goes on and on.

To me, small is under 50 people.   SO would probably be happy just taking off with just the two of us, but I also think he knows my DD13 wants to help plan and be a part of.

Anywho, I need to look at that link PB posted.  My brain is all over the place on this one.  And yes, clearly finances will play a part in what we do.

I am excited, but mellow at the same time.  A friend reminded me today to remember what this is really about.

I will definately keep you all posted!
