Ideas for low cost hobbies?
| Sun, 01-08-2012 - 6:05pm |
Hi all,
So I've come to conclude I'm boring, lol. I don't have any real hobbies that I love, and everything that I think that I might like costs money.
Does anyone have any ideas of hobbies that you enjoy but doesn't cost and arm and a leg? I'd be interested in what you have to say :)

Just another note about knitting . . .
I herited all of my grandma's knitting supplies which was really great.
ANd that's nice to know about Redbox. Thanks!

I was thinking as I read a few of the posts...what about volunteering? I work for a church and we have a food pantry. It is open every Tuesday and the volunteers really have a great time. It makes you feel good and you also get to see a different side of life that makes you appreciate the small things. AND it's free!
Let's see, what else? I like watching movies and Redbox lets you rent movies for $1.30. We also have netflix (because we have no cable). I find a series that I like (Dexter, Breaking Bad, Tara) and I watch an episode every now and then.
We have a movie theater around here that is really cheap. It's old but the tickets are only $4 dollars and on mondays you get free popcorn.
I think you just have to get out there and see what's available. You can check out museum memberships. We have a membership to the local planetarium and that gets us into all of the science and technology museums in the country for free and they also offer classes and events and partner exchanges. This month we get to see the symphony and in March we get to see a play.

Bex, my son is as frugal as can be, and he knits and crochets like a madman.
HI, I don't have lot of time to read other people's replies, so sorry if it was suggested before. I have couple of suggestions, cooking from scratch - I love this one because not only because I love cooking but also because I find it relaxing. There are softwares that you can download for free and create your own cookbook.
And I'm selfish it is not even my thread anyway, I'm just into it (obviously).
Oh, I am sorry!
But someday when I am debt free it won't seem that way right?! :)
