15 weeks to go... balance $8,004.00.

I know you guys must get tired of me going on and on and on about paying off my Bankruptcy debt.  But for the past 20 years we have lived beyond our means, extending our check out too far.  It took bring us to our knees for us to learn the HARD COLD facts that budget means being practical, frugal, stingy, planning, thoughtful, realist, you get the picture.  We are almost through the biggest payments of our life and I'm not exaggerating!

I am planning and looking so forward to Spring.  Hubby is up for a promotion and with a possible nice nice bonus, it will be even easier for us to fix up the house, with CASH, and me be a stay at home housewife.

We will never be tired of you, Norma!  On the contrary, your posts show everyone that paying down debt is a marathon, not a sprint, and I am SO happy that race is almost over for you.  I wish you an uneventful remaining 15 weeks!

I know just how you feel, we should be done with our mortgage by Christmas & I just can't stand the wait!!!  I think about it alot & am even tempted to pull $ out of our EF to help rush it, but I'm trying to be patient & just throw $ at it each week.  I am so happy for you & I know it takes a long time to get to a debt free status but at least we are all working at it!  It is such hard work but the "pay off" is going to be awesome!  Stick with it & keep posting.

I so understand - I just paid off 1 car loan and the student loan plus some medical bills and that was a big weight off.  Trying to whittle down the credit card bills too which has been difficult between the lightning strike on the house (which insurance did pay damage for), and the government shutdown. I did get unemployment for 1 week, which will mostly cover groceries for the month. But we have some additional plumbing work needed and I just got an estimate- almost $2K!Cry
