Interview question

I had an interview within my company for a position that is a step up from my current one. It is in the same department under the same managers. Would you follow up with a thank you note? I am considering it, because the 5 applicants are all very qualified for the position and I want to try to give myself one more leg up on the competition. Also, today is my last day until after 12 weeks maternity leave, so I don't want them to forget about me and my qualifications :) WWYD?

I think I may send a letter saying thank you in it, but not a thank you note. In the letter list why you think you are best qualified much like a cover letter that is specific to the job. Good luck in all areas!!!! Liam is a coming!
I agree with Karen, even if the hiring people are people you work with everyday, it never hurts to add that extra note.
I do agree with Karen (galstorelady) about the note.
Lol, no burst of energy now. I got it a few weeks back, now I am just tired :) No signs of any movement yet either...
