It time - February Budget

Now that the shock of the 2% social security increase is over, it's time to figure out where we can cut back to cover the paycut.
For the month of February, hubby and I are putting every receipt in a basket to track every penny we spend. My excel spreadsheet is ready and waiting. :) Yep, I'm the nerd of the family! So hopefully we can find somewhere we can cut back.
We are seriously considering canceling our cable bill. We rarely ever watch tv. When we do it's usually Netflix or Hulu. If we can get an antenna to pull in a couple of local channels for the news, I'd be happy.
Happy Budgeting everyone!!
Do you have a laptop? The 1.5 years we did without any pay TV service, we hooked the laptop to the TV and streamed via the internet though the laptop o the TV. We watched on the TV screen- we still do this wiht stuff on Netflix. Dvds from the library were free.
I have my February and March budgets made out. So far I'm feeling positive. But seems like I'm always waiting for something to happen and bite me in the butt.
February Budget:
Add another $200 to saving OR have the dog neutured and his nose fixed from an infection. This may require more money.
Add another $100 to the Christmas club.
Stay on our diet and watch the food budget. So far...the weight in coming off but the food budget...G-Whiz...fresh fruits....fresh fish.....Oh my...$$$$
A budget is a living breathing thing it seems. When anything changes in your life financially , so does the budget. Its all gotta work somehow.
February is going to be stupid for us, so many birthdays and upcoming expenses.*Sigh* And it seems all of my food is gone...again. how does that even happen!
Good luck everyone!
I'm thinking about my cable bill too but its so much of our entertainment that I'm afraid we 'd spend just as much or more doing something else. Oh well I just need to look at all my options. Seems life is getting harder and I may be too late to save myself lol! Hope we all can figure it out:)
