Ok, a preface here. It is the end of my work day and I am really tired and a bit loopy. So bear with me.
I finally have 3 medical bills under $100.
What makes it somewhat counterfiet is with more surgery at the Dermatologist, I am making very little, if any headway on the total medical and dental debt.
So, I have given up on worrying about the Dermatoligist bill. Or the PT for that matter. They are happy right now with a small, monthly, consistent payment. I really want to be done with these three smaller ones.
I am going to stop totalling my medical expenses.
Oh, and DD12 went back to counseling. So that will be a bill coming in for 3 copays for a total of $75. And $35 lab bill from derm. surgery. Plus the 20% of the surgery cost.
Therefore, I am going to enjoy my small victory of getting 3 of these down to a manageble level. Serenity, signing out....
I think that it's a smart approach. If we focus on trying to accomplish too many things at once, the brain seems to revolt at some point. You're doing great in my opinion!

That's great! Congrats. I'm sure it was no small feat getting those bills under $100.00. I hate looking at the large numbers. They are so daunting and depressing that it makes me want to give up. You need to have the little victories along the way to help keep you focused.

Marie,
Yea, I have pretty much concluded I will have to change my perspective on medical bills. It used to be an occasional co-pay here and there for me or my DD12, and maybe a prescription, but that has changed.
There are a few things they pay for in full that they didn't used to (like mamograms and basic blood work) so I am trying to be grateful for that.
My DD26 health insurance actually PAYS HER to get her annual exam. Yep, she gets a gift card for $100 mailed to her after her appointment. And you will never guess where she works. McDonalds.
