My February Goals were:

*Continue to meet my savings goals. I should be able to complete my ROTH IRA 2013 contribution, an add'l $2700. After that goal has been met, I have a "bulk savings" account, something I created to ease my mind. My goal for 2013 is to save $15K. I completed my ROTH IRA, it is funded to the max for 2013. After that was done, I changed my mind, and decided to start the "home inprovement savings" instead. I created this years ago so I could have some guilt free spending, but only up to a certain point. my goal is $5500-$6000.

* Continue on with my healthy eating and exercise. I want to add to my exercise routine and step out of my comfort zone - a little, lol! also, a mini goal when I reach 40 lbs lost, get a pedicure! Well, I have scheduled my pedicure, yay!!! I have lost 41.8 pounds so far and am track. loving it!

* Work on a list of home improvements and repairs that are needed for my house. To get started in the spring, most likely. Estimate cost of each & prioritize. I have a list put together, and have estimated the cost for each item. It is just starting to warm up, and I am getting in the mood to start on some of it. Goodbye dreary winter.

* I have two vacation days in February. Enjoy, but keep costs to a minimum. Someday I will use money from that vacation fund......someday. I did use one vacation day. In a strange turn of events, I am spending some of that vacation money, I booked a cruise! It's not until December, so a long ways off. But, the great thing is, I have paid for it in full already. FINALLY, saving for a vacation for 8 years!!

My March Goals are:

* Finish up the home improvement fund - $1900

* Start researching and getting estimates for a new roof.

* Pay my taxes, yikes!

* continue my weight loss journey. Lose 4-5 pounds in March.

Good luck everyone!

You have lost over 40lbs and booked a vacation with a home improvement fund. I want your life!! I'm so happy for you!!

Lets see how feb went:

Feb Goals:

1. Try not to dig into savings too badly this month. We have 3 birthdays to take care of, a bonspiel and a trip to Costco and Ikea coming up in the first two weeks of Feb. We have decided to use some savings for this as we will not be able to do all that on regular pay.

Actually did ok here, especially since March was the 3 pay check month instead of May like I thought it was!

2. Put $500 onto roof loan if possible.

This happened but it was really tough.

3. Keep using the older freezer food first and learning new recipes and cooking here at home. So far since I have been off I have made perogies, home made bread and a cheese cake. I have never done those things before!

This is going well. We are using up our freezer pizzas and some soups I had frozen. There is still some things I would like to get used from there. I bought a big ham and cooked to cook once and eat more than once. I scored the top and baked it with cloves...sooo yummy. Then some will go on a home made pizza I am making and need to use the rest so might do brupper one night, ham, eggs and toast. Or ham and and vege omlete to get some veges in there we will see!

March:

1. Put extra on roof loan. I will try, last month was so tough. I'm allowing myself to do a half the amount I wanted but will still try for the full amount. I don't want huge guilt here.

2. Keep savings/sinking funds where they are. If there are no major purchases or things that go wrong we should be ok.

3. Find a babysitter for when I go back to work! I am having a huge problem with this!

4. Continue with frugal groceries and cooking from scratch.

February 2013 Goals:

1) Start attacking the Student Loan debt. So excited about this. I have all of my CCs paid off now and all that is left is the student loans and the mortgage <3 I feel like I am progressing (though much slower than many others seem to be). Ok, so this one got nixed. I have three different funds that I am trying to contribute to for the short term, so these got pushed back

2) Reevaluate resume. I paid a friend of a friend $30 to critique it but was a little underwhelmed with the service. Time for google searches I guess...Anybody out there a master resume builder/critiquer??? I still need to do this. I have a copy of mine and a few friends have lent me their resumes as guides…

March 2013 Goals:

1) Reevaluate resume. Seriously need to get on this goal. I am more and more unsatisfied with my career direction, but am in somewhat of a holding pattern until I graduate with my MBA in December 2013. This would be something proactive to get my mind off of my current stagnant position.

2) Start paying/saving for house repairs. After my “fall off of the wagon” I decided to make a list of my house repair projects I wanted to complete in the near future (as someone else said they had done). It really helped me focus on what we really need done and how much the things would cost. I saved up almost $1300 for these goals but…The main reason I really need to focus on this area now is that I blew my newly built up house repair fund taking care of a safety issue for my grandparents. Their sidewalk was lifting up several inches in many areas and it was just not safe for my grandma to walk down it. They have the money to fix it, but it was something I wanted done NOW so that grandma won’t trip on the way out to the car. Plus I owe them so much for everything they have always done for us…Makes me proud to be able to give back to them.

3) Keep on keeping on. I felt myself hitting “the wall” with school this month. I am tired of not being home. I hate leaving the babies (even if it is only two nights a week). I just want to work at a job I love and to be respected for the value that I bring and then go home and be with my family.

I am really glad that spring is on the way because I need to get out and about. I am so tired of work, home, school, home, work…

I have a list too of home to do fix ups. Some I just don't have time for, but spring is coming and I'd better get off my rear end too!

Thank you for the kind words ladies! Just to clarify, I have been on my weight loss journey since August. I didn't want anyone to think it was a NY resolution, that would be a lot in 2-3 months! I am happy with slow & steady progress. Just like a debt journey, all you need is progress, and one day the end goal is within sight.
