There was a happily married couple that lived in the foothills of East Tennessee. They lived the average life, a mortgage, two nice cars, and two good jobs. They spent freely on weekend dinners out, tailgate parties with football friends and the occasional vacation. Then out of nowhere, job loss struck the husband and he lost his high paying job. A side venture failed, a recession hit the countryside and no good jobs were to be had. Settling on a low paying job just to try to keep a roof over their heads, he done the best he could and continually looked for better employment. This went on for three long hard years.
In October of 2008, the wife was full of fear for their financial world. She needed someone to talk to, to seek advise and wisdom. While reading a news page, she found an article about a place called - I Village. There, she got a lot of encouragment, advise and was never ridiculed. One fine lady suggested bankruptcy. "OH NO!" said the wife. I would never do that. Their financial struggles continued for several more months. Christmas was very bleak in the household, as the couple's son now had a precious son of his own. Their first grandchild was two years old now and Christmas was suppose to be for the children. The wife began to think of the advise on bankruptcy. She started asking questions and reading all the articals she could find on the subject. She knew from the bottom of her heart, that it was now time to approach her husband for a serious discussion on this topic. It was January 2009. He listened carefully and agreed that this was what they needed to pursue.
