Once Upon A Time - Prince Charming

He woed me off my feet at the age of 18.  We've been together now for a total of 36 married years and dated for two.  And yes, he still in my knight in shinning armour.

Our downfall in the world of credit began with him loosing a high paying job in late 2005 with no real reason other than he made a lot of money.  More than likely that was why. I will never blame him with our financial problems, as I loved to charge things that I really could not afford.  He did too for that matter.  We trade vehicles way too many times and made some bad decissions along the way.  We are both to blame and have learned valuable lessons from the past.

We filed for Chapter 13 in February 2009 and by August 2009 he was offered his present job making a decent steady wage with good benefits.  It was a blessing that came with some not so good issues that he & I and the rest of the family had to suck up.  He had NEVER flown on an airplane and actually had a big fear of this.  He was to travel one week and in home office the next for ten months of the year.  His territory was eleven Southeastern states and the Caribbean.  Needless to say each time he left town, something at home always tore up, broke down or got sick.  I learned how to deal with these issues and he became a seasoned frequet flyer with hotel points and airline miles racked up over most of the United States, including the West coast and Chicago a couple of time a year.  This job did what it was meant to do.  It filled the void of making a descent living, but it also made him longing for home and me missing him so very very much.  His parents have not aged gracefully.  His father has become a frail man after nearly dying four year ago.  His grandson has grown up asking, "Where's poppy this week?"

Around six weeks ago, a conversation lead to a very interesting question.  My Prince Charming is being courted by a company that he has worked closely with for the past several years.  It is very, very, very positive and only covers the state we live in.  Pinch myself......am I dreaming.....NO!   He is "STILL" my Prince Charming :)

That sounds wonderful Norma!!! your little grandson has got to be sooo cute!! Madison, the youngest, wakes up every morning and one of the first questions she asks is "when is grandma and grandpa coming to visit again?" It is such a wonderful relationship to have. I Hope the job works out for the best for both of you!!
