Hi Kate-

This is a beautiful story...It sounds like your mom has a beautiful spirit and can see the good in so much.

I am absolutely shocked at your sister's audacity tho...I can understand why you have give up buying her gifts...but in a way this is what makes life interesting...all of us being so different.

I wish you a wonderful christmas Dear Kate!!

You hit the nail on the head, Duke. THIS is what makes life interesting ... people's inperfections, quirks and eccentricities. I learned a long time ago not to judge situations but instead simply sit back and experience them. I can tell you from living with my sister that her perfectionism harms her more than the rest of us. She robs herself of a lot of happiness by always wanting everything to be perfect.

I was lucky enough to be on the sidelines for this story and I'm glad I witnessed my Mom's ability to see the magic in life.

That's a lovely story Kate. I think both your sister and your mother received something special this Christmas, as your mother got her miracle, and your sister, unwittingly, provided it. (I confess, I thought this post was going to be that your mother had been miraculously deemed cancer-free. I hope things are going well with her treatment.)

I have always said it is more fun to give gifts than receive them! What a great story.

I am also amazed by your lack of judging...I don't know that I could be the same, although, I am going to work on my self this coming year in that area.

It's a great story, Kate. . . and one that reminds me that God always works *through* us, not through lightning bolts and the parting of seas.

On a gloomy day, when my spirits are somewhat the same, your way with "words" has once again put a smile on my face.
