Popping in for an update :)

Hi all,

Firstly let me apologize for not being around more this summer. The past two months have been completely insane and so many things have changed that I can barely keep track.

You may remember that BF and I broke up at the start of the summer (and I was NOT expecting it). It really hit home and made me do a lot of reasssesment/ re-evaluation on what I was doing with life, my priorities etc.

Soo fast forward and I am downsizing :) I have been speaking to my real estate agent off and on for about 2 years, but would never make a move because I always thought that xBF and I would be living together at some point. Well this gave me the perfect opportunity to re-investigage :) You may remember that I haven't really loved my house in several years, but with xBF it was managable. Now the maintenance on the property was too much for me to handle. Turns out property values in my little part of the city have sky rocketed, so I decided now is the perfect time to downsize.

Assuming the house passes the home inspection next week, as of today my house is sold :) I bought an amazing condo overlooking the lake in the downtown core. My Best friend lives one building over and another friend is in the building. Its a brand new building with floor to ceiling windows and the minutes I walked in I new it was home. There is an amazing trail right beside it that runs down the waterfront for miles for my morning/evening dog walks.

The best part is, I will be putting down 20% on the new place, paying off my car and LOC and over half ot my student loan.

I am leaving on Friday for vacation (paid for by my rewards card!) but will try and catch up on these posts before then!

I hope everyone is well!

Hi Bex!

Wow that is a lot of changes! I do sooo hope you enjoy your vacation.

I think the condo is a good move for you. It will reduce your stress and you can enjoy your space. My only concern is the dogs. Please live there for at least a year! Don't go buying a house just because of the dogs. Stay there and be at peace for a bit, don't change your mind in a minute lol. That is my advice to you.

That is so amazing you could tackle the debt like that. You will be adding to your amazing retirement funds kicking that student loan debt to the curb in not time flat!

So happy for you!

Thanks Karen. I am not selling the condo EVER :) Kidding. All jokes aside I've lived in an apartment with the dogs and its not an issue. Even in the house I never leave the dogs outside by themselves unless I am sick or cleaning :) We walk 1-2 hours a day so it really doesn't matter whether its a condo or a house. I can't wait to post that I am debt free!! Definately a goal!!

great to hear how well you're doing! Is this the condo development you had mentioned before? Sounds perfect for you! You are a social busy girl, who needs house upkeep holding you back! Go for it! Enjoy your vacation and hope you post when you return

So excited for you!  I remember you talking about that condo awhile back.

I worried we had "lost" you.  Thank you so much for the update.  Laughing

What a steller MOVE....financially and physically for a single woman!!!!  And I'm sure you still managed to get a very decent mortgage rate on the condo!

May the next man in your life be filthy rich and you don't have to worry about all the upkeep!
