Treating this like a pregnancy

NINE months to go!  Yep, I'm going to fed this baby nine more months and drop it like a rock!

Sometimes I get so sick or tired of not having enough money.  For instance, we have maintenanced everything on the truck and car, but then the stupid signal lights stop working on the truck.  The air conditioning is playing mind games on the car and sometime in the next few months, we need to have the transmission fluid changed & flushed in the truck (it now has 105,000 miles on it).  Hubby tired changing the bulbs for the signal lights but that didn't work.  So it will have to go to a garage somewhere with someone more experienced to fix it.

We were blessed enough to get the new roof last year, but when the roofers done the roof they threw out gutter screens away and said they were junk. Well they were working, they may have had cracks and not the prettiest, but with our place receiving more than 12" above normal for the year on rain fall and the trees putting out, we REALLY need gutter guard for the house.  Cost $100 and husband is afraid of heights.  He's cleaned the gutter twice this spring but there in no way he can bend over and over and over the eve and put these on or climb a ladder.  So this will have to be hired done. He has put off having a tooth pulled.

Not that this is a bad problem to have, but hubby has lost 60 lbs. and I have lost 24 lbs.  Clothes simply do not fit!  I altered 4 pairs of jean and purchase one new pair and a pair of capris pants for a business trip I will take with hubby in late June to Charleston, SC.  He purchased two pairs of slacks and found two pair in the closet that he can now wear.  He had to purchase a few more things too.  Wish we had an extra $200 to spend on clothes.

All we owe outside of normal everyday bills is $63 to my employer for some things I purchased on their credit.  And sadly, my employer is struggling .....bad.

Life is good though...hoping this pregnancy goes by fast!!!!!!  Balance on this baby $20,436.

I am SO impressed with your extraordinary tenacity!  Congrats on the weight loss; and hope that you have smooth sailing for the next nine months.

This should be easiler than pregnancy.  While people tend to breathe a sigh of relief at the end nine months, the real work (rearing a child) begins, and continues indefinitely ...  Laughing

I know what you mean, I have spent most of my life struggling without money. In the end, I have to say I feel blessed in a way. I don't feel the NEED for superficial things like granite counter tops that my comtemporaries seems to need. I am able to enjoy life without a new car or fancy clothes. Though I have to admit you that nice, proper fitting clothes DO make life easier. I once spent $1500 on clothes one summer. I still have many of those pretty dresses...I loved being able to just "throw" something on and look good w/o thinking of it. But I probably haven't spent that much combined since then! My stuff is old and tired like me, haha!

Amazing, Norma! Hang in there and let the baby of freedom gestate!

I also want to say I'm beginning to get a sense how hard it is to lose weight, especially that much weight. I gained five pounds from all the job search stress, and even though it doesn't look much (I'm stil 16% bodyfat), on principle I am just annoyed about the extra weight. So I've been trying to lose those five pounds, and it's hard, hard. hard. It sucks to eat less and exercise more. And then still nothing happens on the weight scale. So, wow, 60 lbs and 24 lbs? That's just plum amazing.

Hang in there.

Wow 24 and 60 lbs. and WOW its down to 20 grand, that is so awesome Norma. I just bought a pair of jeans for  1.50 at the thrift store. My girlfriend asked me where I bought them, that she really like them. It is worth looking at those places. And they always seem to have smaller sizes that are cuter. Go figure!

So proud of how far you have come!

Hey Norma, at least you do not have to feed and educate it for 18 more years!! You are going great and only 9 more months to go! Awesome - Marie
