Hubby just got his direct deposit for his bonus.......kiss about $7,000.00 good bye...going to the Chapter 13 Trustee. This will put us at paying back around 88% of our full amount claimed.  I wonder how many people actually end up paying back this large of a percentage?

BO WHO WHO.... I can think of all the things we need to do to the house.  Insulation, door, deck, truck maintenance.

I think I'll be depressed the rest of the day..maybe the week.....:(

Yes, take the day. I wouldn't want to let it go either. You do NOT get the whole week. Shake it off after today. Start thinking about how far you have come and how short of a time that is left before freedom. 

Then think about your garden and what is growing and what you will plant. Think about fresh veges and the sun on your face.

I found this research out of Delaware, regarding the results of a study of Chapter 13 BK cases from 2002 -2010 done by John Hopkins University: "Finally, currently closed cases indicate that creditors ultimately collect 28 cents on every dollar they are owed on average, with a median recovery rate of 12 percent. " So I would say you are at an extremely high payout, especially when you consider that most people get debt discharged for 30 cents on the dollar, without BK. I would personally ask the judge on your case to author a letter as to how you have done and keep that with your credit report when, if ever, you need credit again. I would have also pushed for more of that bonus, even if it meant a day off of work to get it. You have been model clients and gosh, they should grant at least 1/3 of that to you. Life really sucks sometimes, doesn't it? m

I sent a two page letter today along with our check for $6,931.38 to the Trustee.  I don't think it can hurt because we have paid every dime and on time.  WTH, at least I got some things off my chest!
