First I want to thank everyone who has been so wonderful in posting responses, questions to ponder etc. while I've been dealing with my family's medical issues.

Sad to hear about all you are facing.
One thing about getting a corporate job of some sort is your social security qualification later on. So you might want to consider opening your career prospects for a while at least.

My parents both have chronic health issues and it is tough. But they push through and keep doing what they enjoy as much as they can.
Good luck with all of the art prospects you have going on. It sounds like you are on the verge of many wonderful things to come!
