Lots of things that are not going great for people. RIP Mary Ann too.

Please list something positive that is going right for you to inspire others.

The store just might be holding its own this winter. I know that before Christmas usually things are dandy but when things slow down and the big bills come in I get scared my credit line may not be able stay below its limit. I am not 100% positive but I think it might be just fine this year, even supporting a roof loan payment. I shouldn't be counting chicks but I feel better about it than other years. Is it because i have more experience with the fluctuations, possibly. We will see when spring comes!~

Life is good here in Wy.  It has been a long cold winter but we've felt blessed with first granddaughter living close & she just took her first steps yesterday (she's 10 mths) & we were here to see it.  My DH will start work April 1st so we are starting to turn the corner for some relief in our budget.  We have $ set aside for a new roof this spring.  Really want to know what it will cost because any extra we have set aside that we don't need we will throw at the mortgage as we are counting down 21 mths to being free of all debt including mortgage.  We've beefed up our retirement & my employer is putting $25,000 into my retirement account in February to bring that balance up over $360,000.  We are still adding to our EF & roth IRA monthly so all in all feeling positive about our future.

Here is to a wonderful & prosperous 2013!!

My auto loan balance is under $2,000 now and I will be able to pay off with my income tax refund.  That will reduce my monthly expenses by $176!!

Overcoming a lot of obstacles at home with SO and DD13.  School is going (slow) but good.  Been able to manage the cost of text books so there is no out-of-pocket costs.

Overall life is good!

20yo DS got a part time job!  One of his professors hired him the first day of classes this semester to set up labs and do paperwork.  Don't know how much it pays, but this is great for him in many ways.

And he was a total sweetie and used some of his Amazon gift card that someone gave him for Christmas to buy me the Black Keys album.  :)

Well overall I am doing very well! I am settling into my new role (which is far busier than I thought) but overall things are going well. My new pay check allows me a balance between debt repayment and living life :) I was able to budget in increases to my sinking funds, which ultimately have the effect of reducing debt (I was shorting myself, running to my CC's and then when extra money would come in, it would go to the CC and not the debt). I have given myself more of a weekly allowance AND increased my debt repayments. I have signed up for kickboxing and LOVE IT. Its slightly more than my gym membership, but its awesome! I went 5 days the first week, came down with the flu for a week and have already been twice! Cancelling my gym membership will help offset this cost. My office is also looking into a new certification for their directors. Its a new program offered by the University (Health Care Management). I have a Masters is Public Health so this will be a nice compliment. It may even feed into an MBA which the company would pay for. I will find out more about it in the coming weeks. So overall I'm feeling optimistic about life. I am pretty excited about how things are turing out and I hope this is the start of financial freedom for me!

We have lots of positives things happening here! School is going really well. After 15 years, the program advisor tried to talk me out of a 3rd year accounting class bc it is quite difficult. The first week I was worried but this week the cloud has lifted and I "see" it all again. My brain is waking up!

DH is getting hours at work - tho that is making childcare difficult. I had to call in sick today for work - which is kind of good bc the kids really miss me. They don't understand where mommy is :( I was death warmed over last week and went in bc I KNEW there would be days like this...so I don't feel guilty!

I'm finally making some friends at work and even at school with some of these young kids! Gen Y is a lot friendlier than Gen X, LOL. Or maybe it is a "mother hen" thing. Or maybe it is me, I'm just more open...oh, who cares? It just makes life much nicer to be around nice ppl.

DH and I are super excited about our annual ski trip. We got $200 off from last year and we'll be skiing an extra day. Free childcare for the week will save another $100 ;-)

And I've been able to work out consistently for 3 weeks straight!

Cheers everyone! Spring is just around the corner...brighter days ahead...

Okay...I am so sick of not being able to stay signed in. I tried to post last night on this thread, but my computer at home would not keep me logged in. Anyway, this is a much needed post and I am glad that you put it out there...

First, I am so happy to have a job that I actually love. I don't dread getting up in the morning and coming to work. I thoroughly enjoy almost all of my coworkers and the work I do is meaningful to me.

Second, I am blessed to be able to continue my higher education through the support of my husband and family. I am 1/3 of the way complete with my MBA and it seems to be a perfect fit for me :)

Finally, I am so happy that my little men are on the mend. The babies have been in and out of the hospital the past 3 months a total of 4 times...Scary stuff, but they are both still here and are sweet as pie. I love them so much. DH and the big kids make it easier to handle as they are the most helpful people in times of crisis. I love my little family! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
