What is everyone doing this weekend?  Is it going to be pricey or frugal?

I have to work this weekend. And I mean 12 hours on Saturday and 4 on Sunday at the store. I hope to not do too much spending. I have been doing a lot of cooking this week so hubby has some meals when I am working and so do I.

We do our taxes next week. I hope early in the week so we know where we are at with that. I have no idea.

We had to return a rental car (hubby's company paid for) when Delta left him stranded in Atlanta 4 1/2 hours from home to the airport about 45 mins. away from home.  After picking up his regular company car we purchased an outside light for the house (one security light is broken) and a tester, Cost $19.00.  Hubby sprang for four cheap mini burgers and two drinks $6.50.  (we're still rockin our diets, he's down 53 lbs. and I'm down 20 lbs.)

Sunday we were able to recyle some flooring into a neat covering for the dogs outdoor houses.  The huskies now have a sun deck to lounge on and they LOVE it.  No cost  :)

Wonderful weekend, just too darn short!

It was an okay weekend here. I went out with a girlfriend last night and spent $30 on drinks and food. It was a lot of fun and BF was a good sport and dropped us off and picked us up so there was no cab. Today I spent $60 on groceries and am going to make some crustless quiches to freeze. They make handy breakfasts! Other than that just focusing on keeping expenses low so I can get this debt paid of asap!

Congratulations! Hawai'i is a great choice. Are you going to be in Oahu? I recommend the North Shore over Honolulu. Hale'iwa may not look much, but it's got some great food. Make sure to go to Matsumoto Shaved Ice. There is also a really great burger place (it's a different type of burger), near the Patagonia store. On the way sample some haupia at Ted's Bakery. See the sea turtles sunning on Laniakea Beach!

DW and I met at the surf shop there. She was the cutest thing in the store (and anywhere else!). We're going back there soon to teach DD to surf! Maybe we'll run into there!

Karen - Joining you as one of the weekend working stiffs! But next weekend will be the first I have had off in 8 weeks and I am taking it - told my secretary NOT to book me anything unless they are bringing me in a lottery winning to invest! DH is off on a marksmanship trip for the weekend with my dad and he already paid $90 for that. I packed them sandwiches and goodies, so they will only need Saturday dinner. DD is home so her and I are going to a cooking event. Cost is steep at $90 for both of us, but includes dinner and leftovers - plus we are learning to cook some gourmet dishes, so it is an education as well. Plus mother/daughter bonding over these things is also great. Other than just a small shopping trip for about 6 items, that is it for the weekend. I stocked up last week to last us 2-3 weeks at home, no kids are coming home after this weekend, so we should be good for a couple weeks. Thank gosh, because we are SOOOO tight due to my income drop it is not even funny! -M

Oh Serenity - What a wonderful idea! You have been frugal for so long, so please allow yourself the pleasure of doing something for yourselves! And if you come out of it with no debt, you have an experience no one can take away from you. We never know how long we really have and part of life and working is about trying to have times in our lives that we cherish. We all get so caught up with saving for things, and having good careers, that at times we need to just let go and enjoy in order to recharge ourselves. So happy for you! -M

It better be frugal!

My life has been crazy and not on here much.  We are going to Hawaii in June to get married!  Sounds crazy, but somehow everything is just falling into place.  I am really excited.  We can only afford 5 nights, but still pretty jazzed.  Neither of us have ever been there.

I realize that sure, some of this expense could go towards debt, but we still would have spent money on some kind small wedding here and some kind of weeklong trip.  So, we are just both working hard to not have any real debt from this trip.
