Weekend Expenses
Thu, 11-01-2012 - 12:16pm

Hello everyone.

I do hope everyone is ok from the storm. I am thinking of you all.

This weekend should be low key I hope. Last weekend was crazy expensive. I have to work for 6 hours on Saturday so that should help. I need a new crock pot and have been putting off buying one. I have done a few things in a roaster but I miss my crock pot and my 30 year old one broke. It was the best crock pot. It just died. I suppose it paid its dues I just miss it lol.  I would like one with the center that you can take out and wash. Oh well, not this weekend, but I will break down and get one eventually. I used it a lot.

What is everyone doing this weekend? Spending or laying low?

I cannot log in to start my weekly discussion :(   so I'll post here.

Week 68 and counting down.  We have no plans for the weekend other than a "date" with a million and one-half  fallen leaves!  Anyone have a spare rake or leaf blower?  We'll be working in them Saturday.  I messed my back up last Saturday raking so this week I may leave (get it, LOL) more of it for my husband to mow with the big mower.

Other than this, just the regular cleaning and cooking.

Have a great weekend ALL :)

I am helping with the church bazaar tomorrow, so it should be a cheap day.  I am having family over for BBQ hamburgers tomorrow night, yep, its still beautiful fall weather here in Northern Wyoming.  We are drawing names for Christmas so it is a good excuse to get everyone together.   I too need to replace our slow cooker , we have a technique brand with the removal center but it is metal & the coating on the inside has pretty much baked off...probably wasn't too good for us ; )   It is 3 years old & I have used it on average 2-3 times a week, so it has been a pretty good cooker...but I think I'm going to go back to the crock insert...not sure what brand, I was hoping to find one during the Thanksgiving sales or at least on line with a 30% off coupon... Slow cookers save us as often times I don't get home until 7 & we are HUNGRY!!  Enjoy your weekend, so glad its FRIDAY!!!

oh Stormy you reminded me with the long weekend. I think my SIL and MIL wants to make pizzas, we get together every year and make a bunch for our freezers. Then when we don't feel like cooking or have time we bring them out like take out! I will have to chip in for those. Probably $40 but I get like 10 pizzas and they are loaded and we love them!

Pretty spendy one for us - skating & eating out for kids ($32) sat afternoon. Sat night need fixings for my appy and a sitter for SIL's bday party. Probably pick up a bottle of wine too. ($45)

Sun we'll need to baking & cooking and I'll just work with what I have.

Next week is a 4 day weekend and DH wants to go to the US...I honestly don't want to just bc of $ :(

I have a Hamilton Beach brand "crock pot" with the removable center and I love it.  It's one of those set it and forget it ones, it's great :)

Should be a cheap weekend here.  DD has dance on Saturday and then we're going to the library in the afternoon, I also work on Sunday :-X Not thrilled about that.

Posting from Michigan here, we just had winds and some power outages from Sandy, and I so worry about folks out east as well. Plans for the weekend are to prep the sunroom for new carpet next week. Cash purchase of $350 total. DH and I need to do a bit of shopping and want to go see a movie on Saturday. We were thinking crab legs at home for dinner. Expensive food, but only about half of what a chicken dinner would be out somewhere. -Marie

So glad a few of us are still around to post!  Not sure now much is the boards, and how much is Sandy.  I think iVillage is based in the East, as my CL said they were sent to go work at home.  Eeek!  What a week for that to happen.

My board, MSMW is dead quiet right now.  Makes me sad, I don't want the new board system to scare them away, but I don't want them to be caught in the storm, either.

This weekend I have a lot of homework and studying, and I ended up covering a trip to Walmart because SO forgot his wallet, so I doubt I will be spending any money, besides paying bills, this week.

Had a great Halloween with DD12 and GS6.
