Weekend Expenses$$
Thu, 01-24-2013 - 10:08am

I cut my finger yesterday...so stupid, but not the end of world, but man it hurts and will take forever to heal, frustrating.

I have to work Saturday morning for 4 hours and Sunday afternoon for 4 hours. On Saturday afternoon I plan to make perogies for the first time(got ahold of my grandmother's recipe!) with a friend and an apple pie with my mother's recipe. So just cost expenses with that.

I hope to take the baby and go for coffee at another friends on Sunday.

Oh and we need groceries but I have no idea when i will have time for that? Friday night?

How about you guys? Pricey? Frugal? What is going on?

I have a date with my vacuum cleaner :)

My house is a mess so I want to do a thorough cleaning this weekend. It will likey take two days as I am planning on pulling down all curtains, and taking all bedspreads to the laundry mat. My washer is a little too small to get it all done!

I haven't been to the laundry mat in ages so I have no clue what to expect in terms of cost? But I figure if I get this all done, really vacuum and dust and wash windows, I should be good for a while. I am travelling every week for the next three including a four day trip to Tampa so I need to organize myself big time!

Bex - OMG you would die at my house! But you have those big dogs, so I can totally understand how it can get bad quickly. I am NOT cleaning, as I have a big exam in a couple weeks and need the weekend to study. I am also teaching a class on Saturday morning and will bring donuts for that. Friday we are going out with another couple, but I picked more of a bar place with cheaper food to curb expenses. Last weekend was spposed to be cheap and ended up being over $800 with DH's binoculars, cake and dinner for his birthday. -Marie

Last weekend I drove to see the BF who lives 2.5 hours away so I spent $50 on gas. This weekend will be a weekend in to balance out the budget. I have to work both Saturday and Sunday so that will help occupy my time and I'll be entertaining myself with Netflix and dvd screeners of the Oscar nominees I have yet to see and don't want to pay a ticket for.

So, hopefully no money spent.

This weekend shouldn't be too bad.  I need to take older dd out to get a few shirts, and we might stop to get a quick lunch or snack somewhere, as well.  Also, we will probably have to get some fruits/veggies, maybe bread....the big grocery shop has been done.  Also, more minutes for dh's tracfone.  Other than that, nothing much going on : )  Maybe I will get in a baking mood...always seems to make the week go more smoothly.  Nothing will get done tomorrow, but I only work a short shift Sunday night, so most of the weekend is free!

I'm working mostly: teaching prep, reading grants, preparing for more interviews. Will get to work out a bit. I'll be getting reimbursed the various trips I've taken. I finally got a check from a November trip. I should be able to knock more than $1,000 off my credit cards once all the reimbursement comes in. @Karen: take care of your finger! If the cut is deeper than superficial, you may need the sort of bandage that holds the skin together so the scar will be minimized. @Bex: enjoy the date! I hear they like it if you squeeze the vacuum bag while pushing and pulling across the floor... @Redwing: why do people we love live so far away?

We ended up going out both Friday and Saturday night. That was not planned at all! Spent a little more than normal. BUT I had extra money in our "dinner out" envelope from previous weekends. So it was fine. Hubby and I are both seriously ready to take another step on cutting back on expenses.
